Primary & Secondary Seminar Sessions

In today's digital age, it is crucial to educate teachers, parents, and students about the negative musculoskeletal impacts of excessive technology use, particularly in primary schools. As a past Moving and Handling Manager with experience in the NHS and over 15 years of conducting Private Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments for adults, I have witnessed first-hand the detrimental effects poor posture and prolonged screen time can have on young, developing bodies. To combat these issues, it is essential to implement comprehensive educational programmes that encompass not only the correct ergonomic practices but also the importance of regular breaks and physical activity. By instilling a strong understanding in children about how to care for their bodies while using technology, we can help foster healthier habits that will serve them well into adulthood. Engaging sessions that involve interactive demonstrations and practical exercises can empower both students and their caregivers, equipping them with the knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape while minimising potential harm to their musculoskeletal health.
